Day 1: Casablanca – Beni Mellal – Ouzoud waterfalls
Your 9 days trip to Mhamid desert via Imilchil and Dades gorges starts from Casablanca. you will explore Casablanca’s main attractions including Hassan II mosque. After, we head to Beni Mellal and Ouzoud. There is the highest waterfall in Morocco. High of about 110 meters. Its water bounced on several levels. You will have time to explore this area. The overnight stay will be in a hotel in Ouzoud.
Day 2: Ouzoud- Imilchil
On this 2nd day, your private Morocco tour will give you an opportunity to enjoy the magnificent journey through the Atlas canyons and mountains. We cross Tizi N’Isly and we descend towards Imilchil. It is a Berber village suspended on the heights of the Atlas Mountains by its two lakes, Tislit ( bride ) and Isli ( the groom ).
The legend says that these two lakes were born of the tears of two lovers from rival tribes who refused their marriage. The annual festival is an opportunity for the Berber tribe Ait Haddidou to meet their future husband. The overnight will be in the hotel.
Day 3: Imilchil – Todra Gorges
After breakfast, we will drive from Imilchil to Todra gorges passing by Agdal, Tamtatouche taking the sights of scenic views. We Arrive at the Todra Gorges whose cliffs reach 250 m high. We can do a walk to high cliff gorges. You will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Afterward, you can take a walk along the valley. The night in a hotel in Todra Gorges.
Day 4: Todra Gorges – Tamtattouchte – MSemrir – Kelaat M’gouna – Dades gorges.
Today you start your tour from Todra Gorges. You go up to reach Tamtattouchte and then Dades gorges via MSemrir and track a staircase that rises to 2800 meters. We Descent of the gorges in a magnificent setting in the kasbah ruins situated on rocky peaks makes it even more spectacular. You will go through a succession of villages along the river until we get to an inn homestay where we will spend the night (an opportunity to get an idea of the culinary customs and traditions of the Berber).
Day 5: Dades gorges – Tizi n’Tazazert coller – Nkob – Zagora
After breakfast, you will start the journey along the Dades valley to Boumalne city. After we take the track pass via Tizi NTazazert collar After arrival at NKob city. The lunch will be at a local restaurant. After, we continue to Tansikht to take a track along the Draa Valley to explore its vast date palms. You will pass through the Draa valley until Zagora. The overnight stay will be in a hotel.
Day 6: Zagora- Tamegroute – Mhamid (Night at a luxury desert camp)
This morning, you will depart for M’hamid. The first stop will be in Tamegroute to visit the Koranic library. It was created in the 17th century in which are preserved illuminated manuscripts of the Koran written on gazelle skin and also books of history and medicine. You may visit the workshops for the manufacture of green pottery as well as underground streets. After, we continue the tour through Ouled Brahim and Reg Elfaija until M’hamid. It’s the last Draa palm grove and the beginning of the desert sand. You reach a luxury desert camp which is located a few km south of M’Hamid in the middle of the dunes. After a rest, you ride camels to the desert camp to benefit from the sunset on the top of the dunes. The dinner will be served under a nomad tent at the camp.
Day 7: Mhamid – Foum zguid – Taznakht – Ouarzazate
The tour continues today to Ouarzazate passing via the lake’s vast, flat surface of tamped sand. The track in a landscape of stony Hamada. The lunch will be in Foum zguid. After, we take the road to Ouarzazate via Taznakht to arrive in the late afternoon. You spend this night at a local Riad.
Day 8: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou UNESCO site – Marrakech :
After breakfast, we will discover Ouarzazate City. We will visit the cinema studios and Taourirt Kasbah. After, we drive to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO world heritage site. Several famous movies were shot there like The Mummy, Lawrence of Arabia, and Astérix Obelix … After the visit to the Kasbah with a local guide, you continue your tour through the Ounila valley towards the immense Pacha Leglaoui kasbah. It was built in the 19th century and was once a strategic position, which was a must for caravans connecting the sub-Saharan regions to the Mediterranean coast. After the visit, we continue through the Tizi N’ Tichka mountain pass (2260 m) to Marrakech. The overnight stay will be in a hotel.
Day 9: Marrakech ( Guided visit to the city)
Today, we will explore Marrakech. Your private Morocco trip includes visiting the best places in the red city Marrakech. You will explore Menara, the minaret of Koutoubia (the Twin tower of Giralda in Seville, in Spain), the Saadian tombs which are composed of the splendid mausoleums built in the 16th century, and the Majorelle Gardens. After lunch, we will explore the souk near the famous Jamaa El Fna square. We will also have the possibility to explore this square by ourselves. The stay and overnight will be in your local riad. It’s the end of your 9 days trip to Mhamid.
