Day 1: Marrakesh – Ait Ben Haddou UNESCO site – Ouarzazate
Today, our 3 Days desert trip begins from Marrakech to Ouarzazate through the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka pass (2260m). We’ll get to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, where stands the famous Kasbah, built by the last Berber chief El Glaoui in the 19th century. The Kasbah is recognized as a UNESCO heritage site, where many western movies were filmed such as The Mummy, Alexander, Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia…Lunch will be at the local restaurant. Then we continue to Ouarzazate, “the Africa Hollywood”, where you have the opportunity to visit and see many props used in movies. Then, you will visit Taourirt Kasbah and a souk of spices. The dinner and accommodation will be in a Riad.
Day 2: Ouarzazate – Zagora – Ennakhla Dunes
After breakfast, we will leave Ouarzazate to Zagora crossing the valley of Daraa. You may visit Kasbahs and the palm grove of the oasis. Lunch will be at a local restaurant in Agdaz.
After, we will head to Tamegrout where we will visit the Islamic library, the oldest in the region. Our visit continues to the artisanal pottery where you will see men leather the clay to make different pots and dishes for cooking, and make a fire to heat them at high temperatures. We will return to the hotel. In the late afternoon, you will go to the Ennakhla dunes by camel to spend the night under a Berber tent at the bivouac (watch the sunset over the dunes).
Day 3: Zagora – Marrakesh
After you return back from the dunes, you will leave Zagora back to Marrakech. The lunch will be at the Tizi Ntichka pass.
